The Livestock and Livestock Products (Importation and Exportation) Bill, 2023,

It was to replace the outdated Livestock Importation (Amendment) Act, 2001, was introduced by the Union government on June 7. In ten days,the government asked for their valulable feedback from public and on receiving the backlash or the comments the government withdrew the bill.
The people criticised the Bill, claiming it violated religious and cultural convictions even though it said the Bill was “a remedy for the wandering animal scourge.” The opponents emphasised how the Bill would make animal mistreatment worse. It did not in any way intend to solve the problem .
