
In an unexpected turn of occurrences, a former IPS officer was deemed guilty of the atrocious act of intentionally planting drugs and received a sentence of 20 years in jail. As per the sanjiv bhatt news, the ex-IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt was sentenced to 20 years in prison by a special court for framing a lawyer in a fictitious NDPS case. The court in Palanpur, Gujarat, has mandated that his sentence be continued at the completion of his life sentence in a Jamnagar custodial death case.

At the time, Bhatt was the superintendent of police for Banaskantha. In a 1996 case involving the planting of drugs to frame a lawyer, a sessions court in Palanpur, Gujarat’s Banaskantha district, sentenced former IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt to 20 years in prison.
In a 1990 custodial death case, the Sessions Court of Jamnagar District in the state of Gujarat sentenced him to life in jail on June 20, 2019. Bhatt was found guilty on March 27, 2024, by the Palanpur Sessions Court in a drug-peddling case.
The 1996 case deals with drug planting as a means of framing an attorney. Over twenty years after the event, on March 28, a sessions court in Palanpur, Gujarat, sentenced fired IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt to twenty years in prison for a 1996 case involving drug planting to frame a lawyer.
