Hindu law is a personal law in every way; it is not a lex loci, or local law. Primarily, when a Hindu moves from one region of India to another, he takes his personal law with him. If it is claimed that he has been regulated by local law, it must be positively proven that he has done so.
Schools no longer have any significance to codified Hindu law in contemporary Hindu law; they only have relevance to uncodified Hindu law. As when law was codified many changes were brought in the new law.
