We all know that the urbanization of every country is important. To determine the level of development of any country, the urbanization of that country is also one of the major aspects to be kept in mind. Building of new hospitals, schools, roads, organization, etc are the ways how one country develops. In today’s scenario, we all need to understand that these new developments are increasing our country’s economic growth and GDP on one hand but on the other hand they are also increasing pollution. The most prevalent pollution in our country is air pollution and water pollution but that does not mean that noise pollution and land pollution is not present. All these pollutions are hazardous in one of other.
A present the AQI level of our capital city i.e., New Delhi is more than 450 which means it is at the severe stage and the health of residents of this city is affected. All the industrial and factory waste is disposed off on barren land. All the household waste is disposed off in water bodies. The smoke from these big industries and factories also affects the air quality in our country. There are many who are aware of the bad side effects these pollution causes, and they take proper steps to ensure that the pollution is not caused by them or if caused, then proper care is taken to minimize it. The individuals who are not aware of such side effects and proper care is not taken by them.
Children are also taught that for any country to progress urbanization is an important step, but they are not made aware of the fact this urbanization must not come at the cost of affecting the environment of country. Trees are cut to construct new buildings; water are treated as dirt disposal bodies and the air is polluted by all the harmful chemicals being released by the industries. The people who are living in slums area and the labors who work at such industries are the ones who are affected the most by such pollution. In my opinion, with urbanization proper care should also be taken to control pollution as much as possible by the citizens. Organic products must be used, the things which can be reused must be reused, dry waste and wet waste must be disposed off separately. More and more awareness regarding proper disposal of waste, increasing of pollution and the side effects it may have on the health of people. They must also be made aware that along with the health of individuals, our historical monuments are also affected by pollution. The white marble of Taj Mahal is said to be turning yellow and hence all the industries located within the proximity of the monument were ordered to shut down due the pollution they were causing. These kind of steps will help us in protecting our monuments and our health.
