Lex fori, or the law of the nation’s forum, is another name for lex fori. One of those law is evidence, which is governed by the law of the country in which the proceedings are held rather than the law of the nation where the allegedly violated contract was created or the cause of action first accrued. Every issue involving the acceptance or rejection of evidence is decided by the law of the venue. Foreign nationals cannot demand that their law of evidence be followed when appearing before an Indian court. Only the Indian law of evidence is known to and used by Indian courts.
