  • To be eligible, a person must be at least 21 years old and no older than 40. A total of five years of age relaxation is offered to designated categories.

The maximum age limit for the RJS exams according to the category is provided below.

  1. Five years for Scheduled Caste (SC)
  2. Five years for Scheduled Tribe (ST)
  3. Five years for Women
  4. Five years for Other Backward Classes (OBC)
  5. Ten Years of Physical Handicapped
  6. Candidates must be familiar with Rajasthan culture and heritage, as well as the Devnagri script.
  7. Final-year candidates are permitted to appear, but they must present the necessary qualifying documentation prior to the Mains exam.
  8. Additionally, candidates must have good character certificates from the corresponding universities or schools.

Rajasthan judiciary exam Pattern

RJS Preliminary Examination:

  • There will be multiple-choice questions in the preliminary exam.

  • A total of 100 marks will be awarded for the entire preliminary exam.
  • No points will be deducted for incomplete or inaccurate responses.

RJS Mains Examination:

  • The RJS judiciary mains examination is open to candidates who pass the RJS preliminary exam. There will be four exams in the main examination, each with questions in the subjective/narrative form. Each paper will take three hours, or 180 minutes, to finish for candidates.
  • The following topics will be covered in the main exam in accordance with the Rajasthan High Court Civil Judge Mains Examination Pattern:
  • Law Paper-I consists of Civil Law
  • Law Paper-II consists of Criminal Law
  • Languages: Hindi Essay (Paper III) and English Essay (Paper IV)
  • In the Mains exam, a minimum qualifying percentage of 40% is required.
  • Every paper will have its own designated time slot.

RJS Interview Round:

  • As per Rajasthan civil judge notification, throughout the interview process, the candidate’s suitability for work as an RJS Civil Judge will be evaluated.
  • This will be done by looking at the candidate’s character, personality, as well as physical appearance in addition to their academic, college, and university records. It is likely that the questions are not so much intellectual as they are generic.
  • Participation in the Viva Voce is a requirement for eligibility for the final selection ranking. The final merit list will be prepared and the candidates selected based on the combined scores from the Main Exam and the Viva Voce, in accordance with the RJS Exam Pattern 2024.
  • The candidate can expect to be asked questions to gauge their general knowledge, including questions about current events, during the in-person interview. Additionally, the candidate’s knowledge of Rajasthani social customs and dialect fluency will be graded.
  • Your name will be put on the shortlist for an interview or viva voce only if you receive more than 35% in both the preliminary and main exams. There are 35 marks available for the interview.
