The opportunity to pursue a distinguished career in the judicial services is offered by the very difficult RJS Exam. It tests applicants’ legal knowledge, analytical skills, and in-depth understanding of a wide range of statutes and laws. There are three phases to the exam: the preliminary, main, and interview rounds, sometimes known as viva-voce rounds.

The preliminary examination, which is objective in nature, is used to select students for the main exam. The Mains Examination is a descriptive test designed to assess candidates’ language proficiency and legal topic understanding. Upon passing the Mains, candidates receive an invitation to an interview whereby their eligibility for a career in the judiciary and their personality are evaluated.

The RJS 2024 exam application will be available as soon as the RJS examination announcement is released to the public. Those who meet the prerequisites can take the following actions to sign up for the RJS 2024 exam:

  • Visit the official website of the High Court of Rajasthan at www.hcraj.nic.in
  • Click on the RJS Online Application link.
  • Choose the “Registration” menu item.
  • Provide your personal information in the registration form.
  • The mobile device will provide you with a Password and User ID.
  • Fill out the application form with your address, educational history, and any other relevant details.
  • Add all required files, including scanned copies, to the upload.
  • Pay the application cost when it is due.
  • Keep a copy of the printed RJS application form for your records.

Rajasthan judiciary syllabus: Mains Examination

The mains examination will have four exam papers and be of a subjective nature.

Paper I: Law (carrying 100 marks)

  • Questions on the Specific Relief Act (1963)
  • Questions from the Indian Contract Act (1872)
  • Questions from the Indian Evidence Act (1872)
  • Questions from the Transfer of Property Act (1882)
  • Questions from the Code of Civil Procedure Code (l908)
  • Questions from the Constitution of India
  • Questions from the Limitation Act (1963)
  • Questions from the Interpretation of Statues
  • Questions from the Rajasthan Rent Control Act (2001)
  • Questions from the Order or Judgment Writing

Paper II: Law (carrying 100 marks)

  • Questions from the Indian Penal Code (1860)
  • Questions from the Indian Evidence Act (1872)
  • Questions from the Negotiable Instruments Act (1881) (Chapter XVII)
  • Questions from the Probation of Offenders Act (1958)
  • Questions from the Code of Criminal Procedure (1973)
  • Questions from the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act (1986)
  • Questions from the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act (2005)
  • Questions from the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (2012)
  • Questions from the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act (2013)
  • Questions from the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act (2015)
  • Questions from the Framing of Charge or Judgment Writing.

Paper III: Hindi Paper (carrying 50 marks)

  • An essay in Hindi with a maximum score of 50.

Paper IV: English Paper (carrying 50 marks)

  • An English essay with a maximum score of 50.
