All About the Judiciary Exams

The Judicial Services Examination, often known as the Provincial Civil Service Judicial Exam or PCS J, is an entrance exam that law graduates must pass in order to join the lower courts in the system of the judiciary according to the discussions by various experts in the institute that provides RJS Coaching.

  • Appointment: Members of the lower judiciary are appointed by state governments, who are overseen by the high courts, in accordance with the examination’s findings.
  • Areas: Exam topics include Indian law, history, and constitutional governance; current events of national and international significance; and applicants’ analytical prowess and abilities.

Examination Structure: Judiciary Examination

Every RJS Coaching institute prepares its students for all three stages in the judiciary exams. They are as follows:

Preliminary Stage:

  • There are multiple-choice (MCQ) questions on the preliminary exam. The purpose of this exam is to screen candidates before they show up for the main examination. A candidate’s exam results are not taken into account when making their ultimate decision.

Mains Stage:

  • It is a three- to four-paper test of a subjective nature. The final selection process takes into account the exam results. The state-by-state minimum qualifying marks differ. Three times as many candidates as there are openings are invited for interviews.

Personal Interview Stage:

  • In the last stage, the candidate is assessed based on his general knowledge, personality, and other abilities. The test includes fifty marks; in order to be chosen, an applicant must receive at least twenty of those marks.

Judiciary: Is It a Good Career Option?

  • Transfer within the State: Unlike many other government positions in law, where no such benefit is provided, Judicial Services offers a limited territorial radius.
  • High Salaried Position: A civil judge’s remuneration varies from state to state, although judicial services are among the highest-paying state government jobs. Nonetheless, the majority of recently hired judges earn an in-hand salary that ranges from 60,000 to 80,000 rupees per month depending on a number of factors, including the state, level of schooling, etc.
  • Respectable Career: A career in judicial services is extremely prominent and well-respected. In spite of the hiring and firing mentality of today, it offers job security along with all the benefits and perks of being a state government official. Civil judges make all of the decisions in India. It’s a challenging career that also pays well and advances society.
  • Benefits the General Public: The judiciary has the authority and chance to promote constructive and beneficial societal reforms through direct engagement with the general public. A compassionate judge can protect the nation’s legal system and make sure that the law isn’t used as a means of oppression.

In India, the Judiciary System makes all the decisions, and it is a highly respected and powerful profession. Justice for victims and cases pertaining to societal issues and major crimes can be obtained through the Indian judicial system.

According to the teachers from RJS Coaching institutes, it takes a great deal of commitment, perseverance, hard work, and resolve to become a judge. You also need to possess certain qualities, such as a clear head, integrity toward the country, enthusiasm and dedication for your work, and a feeling of accountability and dedication.
