In State of UP v Gajey Singh, (2009) 11 SCC 414, In the current instance, accused G was struck on the head with a sharp object, breaking his bones. According to the defense’s account, the accused’s home was attacked by four intruders who arrived at the door with the intention of assault. Therefore, it was not impossible for a person to have a valid fear of dying or at the very least, suffering great harm. Even if one gunshot were to be fired in this scenario, it would not be possible to say that the accused had in any way overstepped the bounds of their right to private defence.
